Progressions in C — Bass (4-String)

Every chord the key of C contains, seen from the bottom: roots, distances, lines.

C major harmonizes to C – Dm – Em – F – G – Am – B°; C minor to Cm – D° – D# – Fm – Gm – G# – A#. To the rest of the band those are chords — to you they are a map of root movements, and each one links to its Bass (4-String) page with the tones to fill the space between roots.

Loop the workhorse moves — I–IV–V, ii–V–I, i–VI–VII — in C until your hand knows the distances, then start dressing the roots with fifths, octaves, and approach notes.
