Progressions in B — Bass VI

Every chord the key of B contains, seen from the bottom: roots, distances, lines.

B major harmonizes to B – C#m – D#m – E – F# – G#m – A#°; B minor to Bm – C#° – D – Em – F#m – G – A. To the rest of the band those are chords — to you they are a map of root movements, and each one links to its Bass VI page with the tones to fill the space between roots.

Loop the workhorse moves — I–IV–V, ii–V–I, i–VI–VII — in B until your hand knows the distances, then start dressing the roots with fifths, octaves, and approach notes.
