Progressions in A — Bass VI

Every chord the key of A contains, seen from the bottom: roots, distances, lines.

A major harmonizes to A – Bm – C#m – D – E – F#m – G#°; A minor to Am – B° – C – Dm – Em – F – G. To the rest of the band those are chords — to you they are a map of root movements, and each one links to its Bass VI page with the tones to fill the space between roots.

Loop the workhorse moves — I–IV–V, ii–V–I, i–VI–VII — in A until your hand knows the distances, then start dressing the roots with fifths, octaves, and approach notes.
